Pain coaching – a science and evidence based way of helping you understand, ease and overcome your chronic pain

We start by clarifying what has happened, your needs, concerns, questions, and what you want to address.

The focus of our work together is based on the answer to… what is your picture of success?

We work together to help you understand your pain, make sense of what has happened, design your individualised way forward and then take those practical steps.

For you to get results and live meaningfully by following certain principles you learn and practice.

Together we look at how. That’s the power of coaching.

  • practical skills, strategies and know-how to live your best life now, ease and overcome your pain
  • pain coaching guides, encourages and enables you to follow your chosen path
  • reconnecting with what matters to you, finding meaning and purpose in your daily living
  • building health and wellness
  • turning the traditional thinking on its head — instead of waiting to feel better to start living, you start living now to get better. Living yourself better…how?
  • pain coaching guides you on the how…you know what you want to do and why it matters, pain coaching shows you how

For over 20 years I have been pioneering Pain Coaching as a practical way of being to help people understand and overcome their chronic pain, getting the results they want.

This is on-going work as the science and understanding progresses. I will always be delivering skills, strategies and know-how based on the latest knowledge.

Chronic pain is a specialist field ~ Pain Coaching means something specific

I have designed Pain Coaching to be specific.

It is a highly specialised, underpinned by a positive and compassionate spirit, offering practical ways for you to shape a positive future.

Pain Coaching focuses on you, your needs and dreams, meeting you where you are and walking forward together. A caring collaboration.

The Pain Coach sees you first, the person, as someone with strengths, autonomy, capability, and a positive history.

It is a way of being grounded in the spirit of caring concern, a wish to help, guide, encourage and support you make the necessary changes to get results.

The complexity of being human and suffering requires the Pain Coach to have a multidisciplinary background.

My background is in adult nursing, rehabilitation, physiotherapy, coaching, pain science, strength & conditioning, motivational interviewing, positive psychology and other whole person approaches.

Training and experience matter enormously.

But not as much as accurate empathy, the ability to connect, compassion, to be present and to see the person as someone with strengths and capability. The evidence show that these matter more.

This is the spirit of Pain Coaching for chronic pain.
